چکیده

OR YEARS, PROCESS SIMULATION WAS limited to the petrochemical industry and other related chemistries. Today, several simulation packages include aqueous thermodynamic capabilities that open process simulation up to a wide range of additional applications. This article will look at the theory of aqueous chemical equilibrium, its application to process simulators, and the application of simulation to aqueous chemical processes.

An aqueous concentration model for riverine spills.

A numerical model is developed to predict the aqueous concentrations of sparingly soluble compounds resulting from oil, fuel, or chemical spills onto rivers. The model computes the concentration of compounds both in the slick phase and in the aqueous phase by simulating the processes that affect the fate of the spilled compound. Processes simulated by the model include spreading and drifting of...

Simulating adsorption of U(VI) under transient groundwaterflow and hydrochemistry: Physical versus chemicalnonequilibrium model

Simulating adsorption of U(VI) under transient groundwater flow and hydrochemistry: Physical versus chemical nonequilibrium model" (2011). [1] Coupled intragrain diffusional mass transfer and nonlinear surface complexation processes play an important role in the transport behavior of U(VI) in contaminated aquifers. Two alternative model approaches for simulating these coupled processes were ana...

Simulation of the catchments hydrological processes in arid, semi-arid and semi-humid areas

Hydrological processes and their spatial distribution directly are relevant to climate, topography, geology, and land use in the watershed. Therefore, use of a model whit integrity and high performance for simulating the process in deferent watersheds is very important. In this study was assessment performance of semi-distributed SWAT model in simulating hydrology processes in three watersheds ...

The Effect of Microwave on Migration of Styrene Monomer Polystyrene Food Packaging and Compared to other Thermal Processes

The migration of packaging material constituents into food is a product of the interaction between the food and packaging material. This phenomenon is of importance because some migrating substances may be toxicologically carcinogenic and endanger the consumer safety. Polystyrenes are used in many food-contact applications for the packaging of aqueous-based, fatty and dry foods. The correlation...

Simulation and prediction of scour whole dimensions downstream of siphon overflow using support vector machine and Gene expression programming algorithms

Background and Objectives: The purpose of this study is to simulate and predict the dimensions of the scour cavity downstream of the siphon overflow using the SVM model and compare it with other numerical methods. The use of the SVM algorithm as a meta-heuristic system in simulating complex processes in which the dependent variable is a function of several independent variables has been widely ...
